How To Properly Apply An Eye Cream
With the market for eye creams and gels growing at a rapid pace, there is definitely a need out there. The only issue with people using an eye cream or gel is that they do not seem to know how to properly apply the eye cream on to their face. Below I have listed three guidelines to follow when applying a eye cream to your eyes.
Too much means ineffective: This is probably the biggest issue with people and their eye creams. The directions were put on the bottle for a reason, so that you can maximize your results. So when it says to only apply a dime amount or the size of a penny, follow what it says. Also, the more eyes cream you put on your face the greasier your face will feel. Plus, you are also putting yourself at risk for clogging the pores on your skin and causing a break out.
Dab, not rub: eye creams and gels were meant to be absorbed into the skin, not rubbed. So by taking your finger and rubbing the product into the area of your eyes, not only are you not allowing the product to do what it is meant to do, you are also causing irritation. Your skin around and under your eyes is the one of the most sensitive skin areas on your body. Rubbing or poking will irritate the skin much quicker than say on your checks or arms.
Do not get to close to your eyes: Right here is the issue with eye creams and gels that drives me crazy. People apply the product way to close to their eyes and wonder why their eyes get irritated and red. The eye creams are not supposed to go in the eyes, they are supposed to go around the eyes. I know it is not anyone’s intention to get any kind of product (unless it is eye drops or products associated with the eye itself), but it always ends up happening. This is due to the fact that we do not pay attention to well. So do yourself a favor and pay attention to where you are putting the eye cream or gel, it will save you a lot of trouble in the end.
Following these three guide lines will help you stay safe and get the best results out of your eye cream or gel. Remember read directions, do not rub anything into your skin, and pay attention to where you are putting the eye cream. You eyes are one of the most noticeable areas on a person’s face, so let’s show them how important we think they are by treating them nice. The favor will be returned, I promise.
