Massage Therapy Wages

In San Diego how much do they pay working at a coffee shop or answering phones/secretarial work?

I’m moving to San Diego in January and I need to find a part time job that pays at least 9-10$ an hour while I’m in school going for Massage Therapy. I’d probably be more apt to secretarial work because I’ve been doing that for 4 years part time at 8$ an hour ($1.50 more than the min. wage here), but working at a coffee shop could be a lot of fun. I just need enough so I can have an apartment in the 500-800$ range, and at least 200$ for extra expenses. Basically, I need to make at least 1000$ a month.

Also, out of curiosity, by January I should have at least 2000-3500$ saved. Is that enough in San Diego for emergencies?

savings should be adequate for a couple of months,
barring major emerrgency
