How can attend school for Massage Therapy in VA and then transfer to SC?

ok, I’m truly hoping someone can help me. I’m living in Virginia and my husband is in the U.S. Navy. I desperately want to go to school for massage therapy, but in just over a year, his contract is up and we are moving back to South Carolina to be with my family. Everest Institute offers a massage certification in about 8 months but it’s not an accredited school. If I attain my certificate there will I be able to practice massage in South Carolina? I’ve searched the web for hours trying to find some sort of answer but I keep coming up short. Any input you could give me would help me out tremendously and I would greatly appreciate your time, thanks.

This is a good starting point for massage requirements per state. Contact the SC Board of Massage Therapy, explain your situation, and ask for suggestions as to how you can accomplish your goal without having to retake classes or needing to start over with your schooling. VA credentials may be accepted by SC through reciprocity. You could also contact an SC school where you think you may be moving and ask them several questions. Each SC approved massage school will be aware of the state requirements, and also give suggestion as to what credits may transfer from different schools or states.
