why does massage not have?
Not have the effect of strengthening the muscles of the body?
I know massage has many benefits including toxin breakdown and lymphatic drainage, but I am stuck on this one.

Actually, I can think of one technique massage therapists might use to help “strenghten” muscle. It is a muscle energy technique called eccentric contraction, where you (the client) resists the therapists pressure while the therapist puts your muscle through its full range of motion.
But if you are looking to strenghten, tone or build muscle, your best bet is to get in touch with a personal trainer. Try looking in a gym and make sure the trainer has plenty of knowledge and looks like they walk their talk.
