Massage Therapy Textbooks

Where can I find Massage Therapy textbooks? (please read details)?

I’m in high-school right now, and I’ve known for a while that I want to be a masseuse. I want to start studying at least the anatomy part of massage therapy, so that I’ll have a good grasp of it by the time I’m actually taking a course. I have a love for biology anyway, so regardless, I would find it interesting.

Does anyone know where I can get one, if not a remarkably similar book, which would prepare me?

Any Anatomy & Physiology will work, but a favorite is Trail Guide of the Body which comes in a wonderful book & workbook combo; also flash cards; found at most book stores. If money is an issue check out your local library. Ask your science teacher if he/she has an old copy that is no longer used that you could have.

Focus on learning the attachment (insertion and origin) sites of the muscles. Knowing the names of the bones will be a big help too. Learn the names of the bony attachments. You’ll learn plenty more but this will get you started.

Have fun on your journey and practice, practice, practice.
