Should I take my boyfriend to the doctor or wait for health insurance?
I believe my boyfriend has the condition sciatica. He is in a lot of pain. He cannot walk or sit or even stand without it hurting him. He has been laying on the floor because that is the only position that it does not hurt. We have tried the chiropractor and a deep tissue massage. We do not have insurance b/c he does not qualify till he has been at his job for a year. Right now we are in the process of purchasing insurance. If we go to the doctor right now his condition will be pre-existing and insurance wont cover it, he could need surgery or heavy expensive testing. So i am stuck i don’t want him to hurt anymore but i don’t want to be consumed by hospital bills. Im lost and confused and in need of some guidance or suggestion.
We have tried numberous pain killers
& anti inflammatories, like aleve, tylenol, IB profen, advil, excedrin back & body, nothing seems to bring any type of relief.
His job has given him personal time until the end of this month because he is unable to work.
I would wait. Sciatica like symptoms could be caused by a million things and the doctors will bounce him around each other like a pinball. In the end they will tell him there’s nothing wrong and give him anti inflammatories. Tell him to try some advil or aleeve and wait for the insurance if he can bear it.
